Thomas V. Van Flein, Esq. of Clapp Peterson Stowers hired Mr. Gogulski in defense of his client, a prisoner in the Ketchikan Correctional Center who was knocked down a flight of stairs when his cell door opened unexpectedly as he was standing nearby. Upon investigation, Mr. Gogulski found the Ketchikan prison guilty of negligence in construction of a facility that did not meet building codes. The jury award was the largest ever made to a prisoner in Alaska. Mr. Gogulski received an outstanding review for his forensic engineering in this case. Mr. Van Flein is now the personal attorney to Sara Palin.
